Samick LS-450 Artist Owners Review

Purchased From: ebay Price: $200.00 USD Features: 97 Model I believe, top is green sparkle so I don't really know what's underneath.  But I love the green sparkle finish, it's cool if maybe a little gay. Standard LP controls and pickup configuration old style LP type tuners - not that great but ok.  They look cool but are kinda mediocre quality. Action, Fit, & Finish: Unbelievably good for the price of this guitar.  Also much much better than the AV-3 that I owned. No flaws except possibly the use of cheaper components, but anything that nags at you is upgradable for pennies compared to the cost difference between this and a Gibson. Sound Quality: Sounds pretty good to me.  Having owned both this and the AV-3 LP copy by Samick, I think the materials and workmanship are a little better on this one.  The only edge I'd give to the AV-3 was that it had more mass and was heavier, and maybe had a little more sustain.  However I had to pot the pickups on the AV-3 so … Samick LS-450 Artist Owners Review

Product Rating: Pros: outstanding, fast, slim taper neck

Cons: very cheap hardware

The Bottom Line: This model is no longer made but was replaced by the Avion guitar lineup in the Samick line

cheetah1's Full Review: Samick Traditional Lp-Style Solid Body Electric Gu... This is a review of a Samick LS 450 artist Les Paul copy that I have owned for 5 years. Samick no longer makes the LS450 but instead have a Torino line of Les Paul copys that run from 180 dollars up the 500 dollar range. This guitar was purchased online at zzounds.com for 200 dollars. This guitar looked a bit nicer in photographs than some of the Epiphone models I was looking at in the 200 dollar price range.

Of the 15 guitars I own now 14 of them have been purchased online. I live in a rural area so I really don't get the chance to visit nice music stores, so I g… Samick LS450 artist electric guitar

The Samick LS450: The Holy Grail Of Les Paul Copies?

Pros: Very decent guitar for the price

Cons: Needs better pickups to reach potential

The Bottom Line: This is one of the better Les Paul clones, and very much worth upgrading.

Samick Traditional Lp-Style Solid Body Electric Guitars ...

One of my favorite subjects is Les Paul copies. Really. I've pored over literally dozens of texts and spec sheets, checked out hundreds of reviews of Agiles, Tursers, Memphis, Epiphone, Silvertone, "Lawsuit" Japanese copies, and the numerous no-names that all their buyers hope will do one thing.

Give them a Les Paul that sounds as good as the real thing for thousands of dollars less!

It's not for lack of trying or choices. Agiles have the reputation of being the closest copies in terms of wood used. But change the pickups and six months later, the owner is trying to sell it on Craigslist for 250.00, saying of course, it's just as good as a real Le… Samick LS450

SAMICK ARTIST LP450 - $300 (kent)

Circa 1990's Korean made Samick. Part of the Artist Series they did after Valley Arts. Solid mahogany body, subtle flame maple top, 22 fret rosewood board and mother of pearl inlays in the headstock. Upgraded with Gibson Kluson tuners, neck pickup is a Gibson, bridge pickup is a Might Mite Motherbucker, and a custom cut and fluted bone nut. 1990's kent bass guitar

Killer player, and the sound is equal to that of any Gibson. Samick is the number one maker of guitars on the planet, making all of the Korean Epiphones, Squiers, Washburns,, Deans, etc etc. This was their top of the line before the Greg Bennet series, and shows why they are number one! 300.00 w/case

Samick Les Paul Honeyburst String Through Body

There's one at the local GC. It's a LP style, double bound. It's a Samick Artist Series, prior to Greg Bennett. It's used for $179. I played it for a while, the action is so low it's INSANE, I'd probably raise it, because you just look at it and it frets the note. Anyways, no string buzzing, no fretting out. It's really cool looking, and a tad beat up (needs a new switch) but still sounded pretty nice through the AC4TV I was testing it on.

Anyways, I can't find a damn thing googling for a Samick Artist Series with a string-through body. It has a tune-o-matic style bridge, but no stopbar, it's string through like a tele...which reminded me of Eric's new Godin (e.g. awesomeness).

It can't be purchased till October 24th, because it just came in this week, and they gotta wait 20 days. That didn't stop me, as I put a down payment on it already, so it's waiting for me behind the counter.

Finally got some pics of the Samick. I … Samick Les Paul Honeyburst String Through Body
